MEHA is an affiliate of the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), which was incorporated in 1937. MEHA was established in 1948 and is a non-profit association organized for charitable and educational purposes. The goal and purpose of MEHA is to provide quality training and educational programs while also providing the opportunity for members to meet and exchange ideas and information with other professionals in the field of Public and environmental Health.

  • The Annual meeting celebrating MEHA's 60th Anniversary was held on May 29 at the JFK library and Museum. Brian Golob RS CHHM OF Hennepin County, Minnesota, Presented the lecture on " Environmental Health Emergency Response". Preparedness" which was well received by those who attended.
  • Congratulations to SANITARIAN OF THE YEAR recipient Deborah Rosati
  • This year's NEHA Certificate of Merit, nominee is Cmdr. Gary Pearlman USPHS.The award was announced at the NEHA AEC in Tucson
  • Congratulations to Larry Ramdin REHS, Health Director, Reading, who was elected President and Gerard Cody,RS/REHS Health Director Lexington was elected Vice President, their terms will begin on July 1, 2008.
  • Congratulations go out to newly elected Board members Heather Gallant, Health Director Taunton and Heidi Porter, Environmental Engineer, Burlington.

  • The 2009 NEHA AEC is being held in Atlanta Georgia . Further information will be posted as it becomes available.

  • MEHA is planning an exchange program with other state affiliates. The Exchange program will allow a MEHA member to visit another region for a week and observe Environmental Health operations in another region.Detail to follow
